Taking a stand
I am sure that people have heard the rumors about a BNT that had an unannounced visit by a customer to find this. Do not click if you do not have a strong stomach.
I commend these people that they took pictures and vet records. I am aghast that AQHA is doing nothing when an owner handles things the right way. I don’t know who the BNT is, if he or she is innocent then he had better have a serious talk to his people. I am sorry there is no reason for a horse to look like that. EVER.
We need to take a stand. Trainers, Breeders, Horse Owners - all of us. This is NOT what we are about. That is not horse training.
Why do people allow it? Who can look at those pictures and say it is normal? If it was a freak accident then the trainer would be on the phone ASAP to the owner to get vet care. Speaking of vet care does not look like the horse had any. If the horse was not going to cut it then send it home. Ridiculous.
My horse lives two miles away. I am at the barn whenever I want, open door policy. Not one of the horses has ripped up mouths, spur marks. Not one. Not in my old trainer’s either. They actually TRAIN their horses. I am sure that there are cuts here and there - heck Ace spooked and started running backward and Kevin jumped off and the rein got stuck on her saddle horn and she cut her mouth - the ONLY cut I have ever seen on my horse. I was even there to witness it.
Why do people turn a blind eye? Is it worth it to allow that kind of abuse for points? I am not sure who this trainer is but I sure hope that he is not sleeping well.
He should be very afraid. Come on AQHA do the right thing.
